Buhari Asks Tribunal To Reject Personal Information He Submitted To INEC

President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday asked the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT) sitting in Abuja to reject as evidence documents containing his personal information, which he had submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as part of his filings as the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the 2019 presidential polls.
The President made the submission through his lawyer, Wole Olanipekun (SAN), at the continuation of the hearing on Monday.
The personal information of the president included in his form, CF001 was part of documents meant for submission by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, who are challenging Buhari’s victory the election.
The form includes the president’s details that were submitted to INEC as part of criteria to qualify for the elections, including his educational qualifications.
Atiku and PDP have submitted that Buhari lacked the requisite educational qualifications to contest the presidential elections.
Olanipekun told the PEPT that he would adduce reasons for his objection in due course.
