A presidential aspirant and incumbent Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, on Thursday, 12th May, 2022 said Nigerians should expect to welcome him as the next commander in chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria come 2023.
Bello stated this while addressing journalists in Abuja after submitting his expression of interest and nomination forms to contest the presidential ticket of the APC ahead of its scheduled May 30th-June 1st 2022 primary.
Represented by Hafsat Abiola Costello, the Director General of the Governor Yahaya Bello Presidential Campaign Organization, Bello said he would restore the lost glory of the country if elected the president.
Costello said: “I have come on behalf of our candidate Governor Yahaya Bello to submit the winning form. And I’m proud to say to all Nigerians and to express my congratulations to all the Nigerian people. You know the Chinese say that the journey of 1000 miles begins with the first step.
“I have the opportunity to restore to the Nigerian people unity and the opportunity to restore to the Nigerian people progress through prosperity.
“I did not start this effort this year. I started many years ago. I have convinced the whole country and I have signaled to the Nigerian people that I have the capacity and competence.
“I want to express our confidence and our gratitude our deep appreciation to the National Working Committee of our party for the exemplary way in which they have managed and organized all affairs so far.
“And we look forward to the convention, to the successful culmination of all their efforts, all combined efforts. We sincerely believe that today we have submitted the form for the person that Nigerians will be welcomed in 2023 as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
