2015 Polls: Nasarawa PDP Sets Up Committee To Probe Performance

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Nasarawa State chapter has constituted a seven-man committee to assess the performance of the party in the last governorship election in the state.
Inaugurating the committee at the party secretariat, along Jos Road, Lafia on Tuesday, the party chairman, Chief Yunana Illiya, said the leadership of the party in the state, after due consultations, set up the committee to look into the circumstances that led to the failure of the governorship candidate in the last election, despite the victory recorded during the Presidential and National Assembly elections.
According to him, the committee was not meant to witch-hunt any member of the party, assuring that the state chapter of the party will soon bounce back to reckoning.
The party chairman, who appealed to PDP faithful in the state not to be discouraged by the outcome of the last elections, called on leaders of the party at the grassroots to call party meetings always “to show to the world that PDP is still on ground in the state.”
He appealed to the party supporters in the state to cooperate with the committee to enable them succeed in their assignment.
The committee, which has six weeks to submit its, report has Alhaji Suleiman Ubam as its Chairman.
Other members include Shamsudeen Abubakar, Alhaji Liman Kwande, Mrs. Patricia Nghargu, Mark Ogole, Hon. Adamu Ningha and Barrister Anthony Akika as secretary.
Responding on behalf of other members of the committee, Alhaji Kwande lauded the party leadership for the confidence reposed on them, assuring that they will do their best to discharge their responsibility without fear or favour.
