The APC National Youth Leader, Mr. Dayo Israel, has said that the Nigerian Super Eagle remained the best team in the 2023 AFCON edition despite their loss to the host county, Ivory Cost 2 – 1.
In his post-match address to journalists at the APC National Secretariat Abuja, Israel said the Super Eagle also remained the symbol of unity in the country and called on Nigerians not to lose faith in the team as there is still another edition of the tournament next year for the team to reinforce again.
Israel said: “Though we lost our final match, the Super Eagle remain the symbol of unity in Nigeria. Everybody including the political class, businessmen and women, religious faithful, artists, etc all gathered together to watch the Super Eagle.
” Let’s be happy for our players for making it to the final of the tournament. This is not the last AFCON. We come back and reinforce again for the next edition.”
Recall that the APC National Youth Leader had put up a viewing centre at the APC National Secretariat Abuja in support of the Super Eagle where hundreds of Nigerians gathered to watch the game.
