A presidential hopeful on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sen. Rochas Okorocha, has urged Nigerians to make visionary leadership a core prerequisite for their choice of the next President of the country, instead of mere life-long political ambition of any aspirant and other base sentiments.

Okorocha stated this on Tuesday, 5 April, 2022 in Abuja while speaking with reporters at the APC National Secretariat, Abuja after meeting with the new National Chairman of the party, Abdullahi Adamu.

He said he came to see Adamu in order to discuss vital issues and offer suggestions to him.

Okorocha said: “Anytime I am here, I feel I am back home. Today, I came here to see the national chairman to discuss some vital issues and suggestions that will move this party forward”.

Okorocha advised the new national chairman to carry everybody along and to entrench internal democracy within the party by ensuring that no one was cheated, especially in the conduct of the forthcoming party’s primaries.

His words: “We literally have no time left to conduct party primaries. So this present National Working Committee has a lot on their table to deal with and it requires faster and bigger steps to get this done.

“But as you know internal democracy is very key in this country and I believe that the present Excos will ensure internal democracy where all will be happy and no one will feel deprived or cheated”.

Okorocha reiterated that he was still very much in the presidential race, saying: “I have told the World and Nigerians that I will be running for the Office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and I’m still in it”.
