National Leader, Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in the All Progressive Congress (APC), Hon. Tolu Bankole, has cautioned politicians, religious leaders and ethnic agitators to stop beating the drums of war over the 2023 General Elections and instead focus on peace building in the country before and after the poll.
Bankole stated this in a media chat at the weekend.
Bankole also expressed confident that the security challenge of kidnapping and allied banditry were being addressed and would be overcome.
He cited recent gains as a result of the matching order given to the Military by President Muhammadu Buhari, to halt the attackers on their tracks as reasons for his optimism.
Warning politicians to conduct issues-based campaign to foster unity in the country, Bankole stated: “The drums of doom and wars because of insecurity and politics must stop. Let us give peace a chance by working for the peace and stability of Nigeria irrespective of religion, tribe or ethnicity.
“Nigeria’s security is the collective responsibility of all Nigerians. If you see something please say something. That is the key to lasting peace in Nigeria. Enough is enough, this beat of war must stop. We in the PWDs community will not dance to it.
“I assure all members of the PWDs community that the advocacy for good governance, equal rights for all and total implementation of Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities (Prohibition) Act 2018 across all the states in Nigeria is non-negotiable.”
