About 27,000 students in Kafanchan education inspectorate division have so far benefited from free uniforms provided by the Kaduna State government.
Fielding questions from reporters in her office in Kafanchan, the Director, Mrs. Jumai Luka Aba, said the uniforms have been distributed to principals of various schools for onwards distribution to students.
She warned principals against demanding any amount from students as the uniforms were a free gift from the state government.
Mrs Aba advised principals to ensure students within the stipulated classes yet to be captured, their measurements should be forwarded to the inspectorate division with immediate effect for necessary action.
She stressed that principals should ensure that no students were left out as it was government’s deliberate plan to revamp education sector.
While appreciating the state government for the initiative, Mrs. Aba called on the students to reciprocate the gesture by concentrating on their studies for improvement of academic performance.
Similarly, the Godogodo Inspectorate Division on Tuesday distributed free uniforms to junior secondary school principals for onward distribution to students in their various schools.
Speaking during the distribution ceremony, Mr. Joshua Baba Peter, charged principals to ensure the uniforms reach the target students.
Peter urged beneficiaries to reciprocate the gesture by studying hard to graduate with good results.
The zonal directorate Zonkwa zone was not left out in the distribution of the free uniforms to junior secondary schools during which Mr. Maisamari Samson, the Director urged parents to take advantage of the state government efforts at revamping the education sector, by sending their children to school, now that it has been made free.
Fielding questions from the media in his office in Zonkwa, Maisamari said the ongoing rehabilitation of schools, provision of free feeding and uniforms was enough proof of government’s determination to raise the standard of education in the state.
He advised teachers in the zone to live up to expectation in the discharge of their responsibilities so as to justify government investment in the sector.
