A 62-years-old-woman, Mrs. Lami Dauda from Gidan Waya in Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna state has enrolled herself in class two at the Model primary School Gidan Waya.
Mrs. Dauda, a petty trader said the decision to go to school was informed by her desire to read and write.
According to her, “gone are the days that illiterate people seek the assistance of those literate to read and interpret letters or text messages sent to them from relations, hence the need for all to be literate”.
Mrs. Dauda promised to adhere to school rules and regulations to enable her meet her objectives.
With appreciations to the Kaduna State government for initiating free education in public schools across the state, Mrs. Dauda said the gesture will enable her fulfill her dreams with relative ease.
Confirming the development, Headmistress of the school, Mrs. Juliana Samuel, said she was happy when Lami Dauda approached her, seeking her help to be admitted.
The headmistress promised to give her the necessary support to enable her achieves her heart’s desire.
