Yola and Jimeta, the traditional and administrative headquarters of Adamawa State respectively are now wearing new looks, thanks to the wedding Fatiha of the three daughters of former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, with a beehive of activities along the major roads in the two towns.
The weddings have been the talk of the town in the last two weeks because of the high profile personalities expected to grace the occasion.
On Thursday evening, a delegation from the presidency reportedly led by Speaker, House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), B D Lawal and wife of the President, Hajiya Aisha Buhari, came to town.
The state government since issued a statement through the Commissioner of Information, Comrade Ahmad Sajoh, to inform the public of some road diversion as from Thursday 12th of November 2015 to Saturday 14th November, which might cause traffic jam and some delays in the two towns because of the weddings.
The letter stressed that would be diversion, restrictions in parking and delays in the movements especially along Airport Road, Capital School, Bank Road, High Court Road, Dougeri ,Yola Road, AUN Road and Lamido’s palace area.
Sajoh called on all security agencies to ensure safety of both the VIPs and general public during the weddings.
