The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has recorded 56 casualties – nine dead and 24 people hospitalized – in different hospitals in recent bomb blast at Gumbi Local Government area of the state.
The representative of NEMA camp coordinator Adamawa state, Halilu Ahmed Kangiwa disclosed this during an interview at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Yola, shortly after receiving three victims referred from a private hospital in Gombi to the FMC and brought by NEMA Mobile Intensive Care Unit (MICU) for further treatment.
He said the first victim brought to the hospital from the scene lost his life, increasing the number of dead to 10. Kangiwa pointed out that arrangements had been made by the agency to provide necessary assistance to the victims of the blast, which he described as “unfortunate” and called on people to be security conscious.
On his part, Executive Secretary, Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency (ADSEMA) Malam Haruna Hamman Furo, also confirm the casualty figures.
He assured of the state government’s commitment to providing necessary assistance to the victims.
