Governor Jibrilla Bindow of Adamawa has said that arrangement has reached advanced stage for rice farmers in the state to benefit from Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) anchor borrowers programme to boost their production.
Speaking to newsmen through his Commissioner of Agriculture, in his office in Yola Mr Marthins Dickson, Jibrilla said Adamawa was one of the 14 states to benefit from a N40 billion soft loan to boost rice production.
Bindow said Adamawa was one of the leading states in rice production and that his administration would leave no stone unturned in helping the people particularly those returning from their areas recaptured from Boko haram to make maximum use of the opportunity.
According to Bindow, his recent travels out of the state were official and in the interest of the state, adding that his recent trip to Abuja was not only to participate in the CBN programme flag-off but to participate in the Nigeria/Cameroon meeting on security involving seven states.
He also added that while in Abuja he visited the FCT minister who is an indigene of the state where he assured him that as ambassador of the state, the government and people of Adamawa would accord him the needed support to succeed.
While stressing his commitment to save cost in governance, Bindow noted that the era of travelling with chartered flight and large entourage was over for all categories of government officials.
