The member representing Mubi South in the Adamawa State of Assembly, Hon Abdulrahaman Abubakar accused Governor Mohamndu Jibrilla Bindow of lying to the people of his constituency.
Abdulrahaman made accusation after a name of a commissioner nominee (Ahmad Sajoh) from his constituency was dropped by the House.
According to him, “the governor lied to my people to nominate somebody other than Sajoh who does not have the general acceptability in our constituency. Truly, he did not contribute any tangible thing to the development of our constituency and as such nobody wants him in our own area.
“Take it or leave it, if the governor insists against the wish of my people we have 2019 to fight him, but if Bindow agrees to work with us we will give the maximum support to have a successful tenure.”
The dropping of Ahmad Sajoh was rather a surprise and the least people expected being a prolific writer and orator who can fit in well to work for Adamawa state in any capacity if given the chance. His unfailing support for Bindow’s struggle of becoming a governor, his high profile media to work during Nyako’s administration should have broken any walls against his being screened as a commissioner.
The lawmakers successively screened 11 commissioners, dropped one for lack of merit and two commissioners from Jada LGA and Yola South, Dr Fatima Abubakar Atiku and Mohammad Barkindo were successful screened in absentia as they were said to be on official trip with the governor.
