From Tom Garba, Yola
Chief of Staff to the Adamawa State Governor, Abdulrahaman Abba Jimeta in Blows exchange with the All progressives Congress (APC) official of Yola North Local Area last weekend.
In a bizarre turn of event, Governor Jibrilla Bindow had to physically step in to separate his Chief of Staff, Abdulrahaman Abba Jimeta and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Alhaji Baba-Ahmad, as the duo exchanged blows following a heated argument.
The show of shame ensued during a meeting of party chairmen from the 21 local government areas of the state held at the residence of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, with the governor and some party chieftains in attendance.

Bindow reproved both of them verbally, stressing that the duo had disappointed him considering their status in the society.
Eyewitnesses told The Dream Daily that ‎trouble started when the Chief of Staff insisted that he did not recognise Baba-Ahmad as the Yola North party chairman and ordered the latter out of the meeting.
The meeting continued after party elders appealed to the two personalities to bury their differences but no sooner than the meeting was concluded that the two men resumed their verbal fight.
Then the Chief of Staff removed his gown and the two men threw punches at each other until the governor held Baba-Ahmad‎ while a party chieftain, Lawalu Gire, took hold of the Chief of Staff to end the fight.
Soon after the face off, the APC chairman announced the suspension of the Chief of Staff from the Yola North chapter of the party for indiscipline.
Baba-Ahmad confirmed the development to journalists but said he hoped for an amicable settlement of the issue by party leaders in the state.
Attempts to speak with Abba were unsuccessful.
In the same vein, the Organising Secretary of the APC in Adamawa state, Alhaji Ahmad Lawal in a press conference in Yola distanced the party from any link with Baba Ahmad, saying: “Who is Baba Ahmad in the first place that has the power to suspend anybody in the party he is not a member? For your information Baba Ahmad is never our member and we don’t even know him as a party member in the state. Abdulrahaman Abba Jimeta is never suspended and he cannot, is still a party stalwart of repute in this state”.
