Protest staged by youths in Kafanchan last Friday over alleged Marginalization in the recent recruitment exercise by the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) assumed a wider dimension on Monday.
The youth, who had doubled their number, blocked all road leading to the NRC premises in Kafanchan all rail routes to the railway junction, as early as 8:00 am.
The development forced staff out of their offices, thereby paralyzing normal activities. The protesting youths carried placards with inscriptions like “Give us our jobs”; “This is our Land”, “Ensure justice” and “Give us our quarter”, among others.
The youths besieged the office of the District Manager and insisted that he must explain his action with regards to the recruitment exercise.

The District Manager, Mr Arondo Felix, while addressing the aggrieved youths, pleaded with them to exercise patience and re-iterated the limited job opportunities the corporation had to offer.
The manager attributed the development to misinformation of the youths on recruitment procedure. He said the exercise was supervised by the code of Conduct Bureau and the Federal Character Commission to ensure compliance with Federal Character.
It will be recalled that youths in Kafanchan last Friday staged a peaceful protest at the premises of the Nigeria Railway Corporation, North Central District, Kafanchan over alleged marginalization in the recent recruitment exercise conducted by the Corporation.
