No fewer than seven policemen have been feared killed in Rivers State as fatal assaults by unknown gunmen continued in the state at the weekend.
This time, the gunmen struck on the East-West road; from the Choba bridge to Rumuji Community. It was learned that the gunmen attacked the C4i police formation at Emohua community where they killed two people.
Then they attacked a stop-and-search police
point at Ogbakiri Junction. Thereafter,
the took the rampage to Rumuji where three policemen were slain.
The unknown gunmen also attacked Elimgbu
Police Station in Obio/Akpor Local Government where they fell two men.
However, Public
Relations Officer of the Command, Nnamdi Omoni, said police were mobilising to
the scenes to carry out a first-hand assessment of the deadly situation.
