Akpabio Shuts NDDC Headquarters Over Covid-19 Outbreak

Following an outbreak of COVID-19 on the premises, Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio, has ordered the immediate closure of the Corporate Headquarters of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
A short statement made available to The Dream Daily Newspaper on Thursday in Abuja by the Ministry’s Director of Press & Public Relations, Deworitse Patricia, reads:
“The Honourable Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Dr Godswill Akpabio, CON, has directed the immediate temporary closure of the Corporate Headquarters of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Port Harcourt as a result of suspected outbreak of COVID-19, Corona virus disease.
“He has also advised all staff currently exhibiting symptoms not to panic but to report to the nearest NCDC center in Port Harcourt for evaluation and possible treatment. Further actions shall be communicated as would be directed by the Headquarters of the NCDC.”
