Al-Makura Visits IGP, Lauds Buhari’s Choice Of Police Chief

Governor of Nassarawa State, Umaru Tanko Almakura on June 28, 2016 paid a courtesy visit to the Acting Inspector-General of Police, (IGP) Ibrahim Kpotum Idris in his office.

Speaking during the visit, Governor Almakura said he was in the office of the Inspector-General of Police to rejoice with him over his elevation to the Inspector-General of Police.

According to a statement made available to The Dream Daily in Abuja by Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), Force Headquarters, Donald Awunah, “Governor Tanko Almakura recalled the period the Inspector-General of Police served in Nasarawa State as the Command’s Commissioner, recounting how peace and orderliness pervaded the State as a result of his policing techniques, saying inspite of present security challenges, IGP Idris is a square peg in a square hole that will surmount the current security challenges.
Responding, IGP “thanked the governor for the visit, saying he was highly elated to see His Excellency, Governor Almakura as the first Executive Governor to call on him as the IGP, assuring him and the nation of his determination to secure the nation for social development and economic growth.”
