Alamieyeseigha: Bayelsa Declares 7 Days Of Mourning, Flags Fly At Half Mast

The Bayelsa State Government has declared seven days of mourning in honour of the first civilian Governor of the State Chief Diepreye Solomon Peter Alamieyeseigha, who passed on last Saturday at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital.

A Government House statement by the Chief Press Secretary, Daniel Iworiso Markson, to this effect also directed that, all flags in all public buildings and premises across the state be flown at half-mast for the period.

The seven-day mourning period and the flying of the flags at half-mast takes effect from today, while condolence registers have been opened in Government House, the State Secretariat Complex and Ijaw House, all in the State capital.
