The monthly keep fit programme for staffers of University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) has been described as a template for sensitising them on the importance of exercise, which they need to do least three times in a week.

Coordinator of the programme who is also a Pharmacist, Mr. Lanre Alege while
leading this month’s edition at the Kwara State Stadium averred that keeping fit has a lot of advantages, including enhancing health living.

According to him, the monthly keep fit exercise is not enough, but is serving as a remainders to the workers to always keep fit at all times. He also counselled them to stays away from anger, which he said “hurts only the person that is angry. If you are right, then you don’t have any right to be angry. Patience with family is love, Patience with others is respect,
patience with self is confidence, and patience with God is faith.”

Alege also spoke against thinking, saying: “Never think about the past because it brings tears. Don’t think more about the future because it brings fears but live this moment with a big smile, as it brings cheer.”
He pointed out that “every test of life makes us bitter or better, and every problem comes to make or break us,” adding that “our choice makes us either victims or victorious.”
