The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has called on well-meaning Nigerians to support the anti-graft war of President Muhammadu Buhari in order to restore the country’s lost glory.
The call was made by the senior pastor in charge of Province 1 of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, covering 180 parishes in Anambra State, under Region 6 Enugu in the South East, Pastor Tony Curtis Ukagwu during a press briefing on the church’s on-going 12-day programme tagged “God of Vengeance” at the Redeemed Christian Church of God headquarters, Awka, Anambra state.
Pastor Ukagwu while calling on all Nigerians to embark on fervent prayers for divine direction for the country’s leaders, insisted that Nigeria is a great country, endowed with all natural resources, capable of transforming the lives of her citizens, if well managed.
The senior pastor maintained that the current economic recession in the country has unleashed untold hardship on Nigerians, which “depicts the resolve of the devil to thwart the joy of Nigerians using the political leaders.”
He noted that the RCCG was contributing its quota towards the restoration of normalcy in the country and that with prayers, the plans of the enemy of the country called corruption would be scuttled.
He linked Nigeria’s predicament to that of Israelites until when God decided to liberate them from the hands of the prosecutors, saying “with prayers, nothing is hard for God to do”.
“One of the weapons to liberate Nigeria as a country in her present myriad of problems would be effective and fervent prayers. Therefore, I enjoin all Nigerians to embark of prayers irrespective of religious affiliation because God is very much interested in the liberation of this country, and that is why we are holding this programme with its theme ‘vengeance of God’ as our own quota to the success journey of restoration of the country’s glory. Through the programme you know that we are in support of the leadership of the country by fighting corruption. The vengeance should not be physical but spiritual,” Ukagwu said.
