The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on Saturday 28 December 2024 condoled with Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, over the death of his mother and son.
In a statement in Abuja by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Barr Felix Morka, the party said it was saddened by their deaths particularly happening at short intervals throwing the first family and the entire Jigawa State into a severe grief and mourning.
Morka stated: “The All Progressives Congress (APC) expresses its deepest condolences to the Governor of Jigawa State, His Excellency, Umar Namadi, over the death of his beloved mother, Hajiya Maryam Umar Namadi, and his son, Abdulwahab Umar Namadi.
“Sadly, both deaths occurred within a short interval, throwing the first family and the entire Jigawa State into severe grief and mourning.
“Until her passage, Hajiya Maryam Namadi was an exceptional woman of faith and influence within her family, community and society while the Governor’s 24-year-old son, Abdulwahab Namadi, was a vibrant young man with a promising future ahead of him.
“The loss of two family members in the circumstances is tragic, and the pain unimaginable. We join in fervent prayer that the Almighty Allah (SWT), in His mercies, may grant His Excellency and his family the strength and succour to bear this huge loss.
“We also commiserate with the government and good people of Jigawa State over this loss.”
