Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC) National Convention Protocol Sub-Committee and Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, has stated that the party’s upcoming convention has several serious dimensions to it which put the event beyond being a mere internal affair of the party and therefore required thoughtful planning for it to be a success.
Ganduje made the assertion before journalists shortly after the meeting of the protocol sub-committee at the party at its national secretariat in Abuja on Tuesday, 15 March 2022.
The governor explained that attendance at the APC national convention would extend beyond party cycles as diplomats, governors, the president, vice president, ministers and other top government functionaries were expected to attend as observers and participants.
He disclosed that the training of protocol officers for the event had commence ahead of national convention to ensure a friendly environment throughout the event.
“In this regard, I will personally make sure that everyone is accommodated. I’ll supervised the arena to make sure that everything is done in the right way and in the right place,” Ganduje said.
When asked about the possible fear of another postponement of the convention, probably via a court order stopping it, Ganduje could only say “the convention will hold, In sha Allah” (God willing).
The Dream Daily Newspaper can report that there was a noticeable increase in activities at APC national headquarters in relation to the convention, which is slated to hold on Saturday, 26 March, 2022. Party officials and leaders seen on the premises were all busy working towards it as to make even a casual observer conclude that the convention date is sacrosanct.
