Following claims and counter-claims of victory in the exercise by some aspirants, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday declared its Edo gubernatorial primary inconclusive and resolved to fix a new date to complete the process.

Recall that the APC had over the weekend conducted its gubernatorial  primary in the state which saw the emergence of three candidates laying claims to have won the primary.

However, a statement in Abuja by the APC National Publicity Secretary Barr Felix Morka said the rerun will be conducted on February 20, 2024 to get the party’s governorship candidate.

Morka wrote: “At its emergency meeting held today, Tuesday, February 20, 2024, to consider the report on the Edo State Governorship Primary Election, the National Working Committee (NWC) deliberated on the report and resolved that the Edo State Governorship Primary Election has not been completed, and has now fixed Thursday February 22, 2024 for the completion of the Primary Election Process.”
