The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has released its timetable and schedule of activities for the Ondo governorship primary to elect the party’s candidate.
In a statement on Monday 18 March 2024 in Abuja by the National Organising Secretary, Suleiman Argungu, the party said the sale of expression of interest and nomination form for aspirants will commence from April 3 to 10, 2024 while submission of completed filled form is on April 12, 2024.
The screening of aspirants jostling for the race will begin on April 19 and end on April 20. According to the schedule, screening appeal, delegate congress and delegate congress appeal will hold on April 21, 22 and 23 respectively.
The gubernatorial primary election and appeal will hold on April 25th and 26th respectively.
Meanwhile, the statement disclosed that the indirect mode of primary will be adopted to elect the APC standard bearer in Ondo State.
In keeping to its tradition, all female and persons with disabilities aspirants will only pay N10 million expression of interest form while the nomination form will be free. Youth aspirants below 40 years on the other hand will pay N40 million nomination form while the expression of interest form will be free.
Some of the early aspirants jostling for the Ondo governorship ticket under the banner of APC include the Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa; oil mogul, Jimoh Ibrahim and learned silk, Olusola Oke, among others.
