The newly elected Executives of the Aso Pada Youths Development Association (APYDA) were on Sunday 9 April inaugurated to pilot the affairs of the association.
The oath of office was administered by Barr. J.J Shekwolo, who represented Barr B. B Adeck,
The news executives were charged to abide by their oath of office to serve the association for good.
In his valedictory speech, the outgoing President of APYDA, Comrade. Shamu, J. John, thanked members of the association and community leaders for providing the backbone for him to pilot the affairs of APYDA for the past 12 years.
He tender his unreserved apologies for those he may have unknowingly offended and charged members to extend their cooperation to the new administration.
John, who resigned voluntarily as Aso Pada Youths Leader due to his new office as the secretary-general of the Karu local government Gbagyi Youths Development Association, listed some of his achievements to include registration of APYDA Football Club with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), Karu local government area office, acquisition of land for the association, fight against insecurity in the area, acquisition of sanitation equipment and certificate of incorporation from the Federal Government for the association, among others.
On his part, the newly sworn in President, Comrade. Micah Tanko Chetubo, promised to operate an open-door administration and charged his members and community leaders to always advise him when need arises.
In his goodwill message, the Sarkin Aso, Chief Silas Musa Aso, urged the newly elected executives to take a cue from the outgoing president and preserve the unity of the community.
He assured other people living in the area of safety and urged them to consider Aso as their home.
In his goodwill message, Mr. Clement Yaciga, Tiv Aso Youth Leader, extolled the leadership skills of the outgoing president, John, and suggested a sent-forth party to celebrate his achievements in office.
He thanked the APYDA on behalf of the Tiv people in Aso and pledged their loyalty to the new administration.
Highlights of the occasion was the presentation of certificate of return to the newly elected executives by the returning officer on behalf of Chief Silas Musa Aso.
