Atiku Abubakar Is An Asset To APC

From possible indication, it really seems that the All Progressives Congress is in crisis of interest, that if serious measure(s) is not taken can easily lead to the extinction of the party before 2019.
Therefore, it is in the light of this unfolding crisis that it become necessary and imperative for the party to holistically put in place the Elders Forum and for the purpose of political expediency made the former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, as he is a big asset and a major stakeholder, the Chairman of the forum in order to chart a course to avoid any sort of crisis, that may engulfed the party in the future.
The current crisis whose flames has engulfed the National Assembly and the Executive is a serious cause for concern. And what amplified the current crisis can be said to be the lack of such a forum in the party.
To avoid such a scenario, there is a great deal of sense for the formation of the forum and making the former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, its Chairman. He is a shrewd politician who has carved a niche for himself in the art of politics and built political bridges across the country. He can cross the bridges whenever there is a crisis so that an amicable solution(s) is found.
The current crisis between the Senate and the presidency over alleged forgery is avoidable if Atiku was the Chairman of the APC Elders Forum. This is because he would have deployed his wise decision in taming the crisis or nipping it in the bud.
With Atiku as the Chairman of the Elders forum of the party, he would initiate ways to bring harmony and peaceful co-existence among the three tiers of government and instill discipline among the rank and file of the party.
Impunity is going to be a thing of the past in the party. Recalcitrant members of the party would no doubt be compelled to toe the line of the party in order to show the world that APC is really a political party for durable change.
The APC should consider the composition of the Elders Forum and made Atiku Abubakar, its Chairman so that the party could forge ahead without any rancour and acrimony as it is being witnessed in the party. As a politician, who has been on the turf for a very long time, Atiku Abubakar has the wherewithal to put the APC on the right pedestal.
Politics demand a shrewd personality to weather any storm and ensure a level playing field and Atiku Abubakar possesses these attributes as someone who held the position of Vice-President for eight years. He is also in better position to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari. He is someone with the highest humility, down to earth and above all a concern for the common man and woman. He would no doubt adopt all these in assuaging any ill-feeling among the party’s faithful.
Let the faithful of the APC support the call for the setting up of the Elders Forum and make former Vice President Atiku Abubakar the Chairman of the forum for cohesion among the supporters of the party.
APC stands to gain from the experience of Atiku to unify the party beyond 2019 as the party is not only for change now, but for progress. There is no need for anyone to entertain any fear about the personality of Atiku Abubakar, as to the current situation whereby whenever the former vice president makes a statement, some people read different meanings into it.
