The Member representing Uba/Gaiya State Constituency in the Adamawa House of Assembly, Mohammed Hayatu Atiku, has donated educational materials to 600 pupils of primary and secondary and schools in his constituency.
Atiku said he selected 100 students from each ward of the area to benefit from his long desired wish to promote education and alleviate the sufferings of parents and students buffeted by the the harsh economy and Boko Haram insurgency in the state.
Among the items he donated were writing materials, schools bags, uniforms, sandals and one-year school fees of the secondary school students.
Atiku said while his main work as a legislature was to make laws that would benefit the people of his constituency, he cannot shy away from touching the lives of people in many other way, most especially those considered the less-privileged in society.
He advised parents to properly guard their wards and children from joining bad groups, to stop them from becoming miscreants and unwanted elements in the society.
