A former member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bauchi state, Alhaji Abdullahi Little, has described former Chairman ETF, now TETFUND, Dr. Musa Babayo, as “an educationist and intellectual with a high sense of responsibility to move the nation forward.”
Abdullahi said the work done while Babayo was at TETFUND cannot be over-emphasized, considering his contribution in the area of provision infrastructure, transport vehicles, payment of scholarship to students to study abroad, among others.
Abdullahi further stated that Dr. Babayo had also assisted in the development of Tsangaya schools to bring religious education on board through the upliftment of Almajirai who beg on the streets.
His words: “We appreciate the effort of our illustrious Bauchi son from Katagum zone who had improved our nation universities. Dr. Musa Babayo did a lot to improve education in the country at TETFUND. He assisted a lot by giving out scholarship to students to further their education abroad. He ensured that many buildings were constructed in tertiary institutions nationwide. In fact, we in Bauchi state are very proud of him because he contributed to our state university in Gadau and our polytechnics through TETFUND, among others. So, there is no way we can forget him in the annals of history.
He also said the former chairman ETF had aided the north-east region.
“We are calling on him to keep doing the good things he has been doing for his people. I believe Dr. Babayo who is a traditional leader in the Katagum Emirate as Talban Katagum, will do more and he shall continue to be a blessing to the people of Bauchi State” Abdullahi said.
He lamented the criticisms made against Dr. Babayo, noting however, that the former TETFUND chief had emerged unblemished.
