Former Chairman, Peoples Democratic party (PDP) national leader, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, has called on all Nigerians to be more patriotic and sacrifice their personal interests for the sake of the nation.
The elder statesman regretted how bad the country’s economy has degenerated today, even as he sympathised with the present generation of Nigerians growing up under the harrowing socio-economic climate.
Tukur spoke when he played host to a group of reporters at his Yola, Adamawa home. House in Yola.
According to him, every Nigerian should contribute to the economy growth of the nation, which is in a pitiful situation.
He enjoined all to pray for the peace and unity of the country: “I am calling on all Nigerians to be more patriotic for the country to have economy growth and always pray for the peace of the nation. We are all aware of the Boko Haram incessant attacks, which have destroyed our peace and unity in this country”
Tukur maintained that he had retired from partisan politics, stressing that he could only give his advice “whenever necessary for the development of the nation.”
