Governor of Adamawa state, Jibrilla Bindow has flagged off the construction of a road that takes off from Jippu Jam roundabout to Yolde Pate in Yola town which has been neglected for over 40 years.
According to Bindow, history was made as the flag-off ceremony had Lamido Adamawa, Alhaji (Dr) Barkindo Aliyu Musdafa at the event. The Lamido was commissioner of works in 1982 when the Yolde Pate community emerged.
The told the gathering that his administration was people-oriented and that did not have any political godfather except the people of the state.
Bindow said the construction of the roads became paramount considering the economy potential of the area and to fulfil his campaign promise.
In his remarks at the event, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Alhaji Abdulraham Abba Jimeta told “politicians in the state who are trying to distract Governor Bindow led administration with mere political propaganda” that “the governor is out for work and means business”. Therefore, should excuse him to settle down for business and progress, as Bindow had come to do in the state.
The 4.5 km road that leads to Yolde Pate settlement suffers neglect of the 15 administration since the defunct Gongola State. The contract was given to Roycon Construction Company at the total sum of N1.3 billion. The construction firm assured the governor of completing the road within the shortest possible time.
