A grassroots politician and youth leader crusading for the right of the downtrodden in society, Comrade Obadiah Ezekiel, has berated Governor Jibrilla Bindow for allegedly deceiving the people of Adamawa State over some issues.
Ezekiel, who is the Organising Secretary of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Mayo, Belwa Local Council of Adamawa State outline areas the governor has been allegedly found wanting.
According to him, “all the roads contracts awarded within the state capital is full of questions without answers. How can a road like that of Faro junction to Jimeta Park, as it has been widely revealed, consumed hundreds of millions on naira? I want to believe the man is just deceiving us with roads contracts diverting our money.”
Ezekiel added: “You can also imagine how our primary school teachers have been living with frustration without payment of their salaries of over two months, leading them to demonstrate peacefully on the streets of Jimeta. This is a disgrace to the state.
“Look at how virement loan was spent. No proper accountability of the said loan was given to us. In fact I’m already tired of the seven months of our governor. For goodness sake, in the recent budget breakdown, the office of the secretary to the state government was received over N7 billion but other important ministries that have direct bearing on the people received less because the governor has no good intention for our people. What is there in the office of the SSG that a whooping N7 billion is allocated to that office, please the Adamawa people need more explanations.”
The grassroots PDP chieftain suggested that Bindow should restructure his cabinet with a view to touching the lives of people at the grassroots.
He also queried the anti-graft crusade going on in the country, saying it is lopsided against the PDP.
“Metuh is still under arrest but Jafaru Isa has been granted bail because he is an APC man, but I pray the anti-corruption fight will come down to my state and I know it will end up leaving out all the APC people”.
