The Adamawa state government has forwarded to the state Ministry of Justice the late Justice Umar Bobboi white paper on the investigation of the administration of former Governor Murtala Nyako for financial misappropriation and misconduct for advice before the state executive council takes a decision on the matter.
Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Ahmed Sajoh, made the disclosure shortly after state executive council meeting held at Government House, Yola on Wednesday.
He said: “The state executive council at the meeting also ordered full investigations into the activities of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) from its inception to date in the state.
The Five-man panel of investigation is headed by Hon Alpha Belel as the chairman.
Other members are Ayuba Tumba, Hon. Jim Audu and Babs Shuaibu as members while Deputy Permanent Secretary political in the SSG’s office is to serve as secretary respectively.
It would be recalled that Nyako was impeached by the state assembly in 2014.
After the impeachment the then Speaker of the Adamawa Assembly, Hon Ahmadu Fintiri took the mantle of leadership as the acting governor of the state.
However, the Court of Appeal has described the process that lead to Nyako’s impeachment as null and void and ineffective.
