Bindow Visits 197 IDP Youths At Skills Acquisition Center

Adamawa state governor, Senator Muhammad Umaru Jibrilla Bindow yesterday inspected the on-going training of 179 youths in various skills at the Training Centre in Yola South Local Government Area of the state.
The youths who were selected from the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps across Adamawa, Yobe and Borno states.
The skills acquisition centre was equipped with modern heavy and light duty machines for various types of craft training ranging from aluminium fabrication, electrical work, automobile and GSM repairs as well as wood and metal work.
The centre, a boarding facility was also designed to improve concentration and enhance learning with state-of-the-art equipment.
Speaking at the inspection, Governor Bindow highlighted the importance of skills acquisition and craftsmanship as a way to make the youths self-reliant and enterprising.
He then cautioned the youths against unruly behaviour and urged them to concentrate and make the most of the opportunity.
While taking Governor Bindow round the facility, the Special Adviser to the Governor on poverty eradication and wealth creation, Hon Ayuba Audu said the centre has also conducted training for women on beads making and other household products.
He emphasized that additional containers of training equipment have arrived the state and will soon be handed over to the relevant authorities
