In an effort to revive the education sector after the wanton destruction of schools by Boko Harams, the Government of Adamawa state under the delegation of the Deputy Governor, Engr Marthins Nasir Babale, inspected schools destroyed by Boko Haram in Gombi Local Government for repairs.
Babale visited Government Secondary School Gombi, which was established in 1977 and became the Boko Haram camp of operation, where they stayed and launched their incessant attacks, left the school dilapidated and destroyed.
Principal of the school, Alhaji Idris Samari, who lament the poor application of students to the school, revealed that the school before insurgents attacked it had over 1,000 students on but now has less than 400 as many fled because of the attacks.
“We pray the visit of the government officials will fast-track their plans to renovate the school, as you can see the school is in bad shape “. Idris said
Babale also inspected GSS Muchalla where he saw the renovated blocks of classrooms by the state government and a block of two classrooms under construction by the Parents Teachers Association (PTA) to support the efforts being made by Governor Jibrilla Bindow to revamp the education sector in the state.
The principal of that school, James Garga (JP) thank Governor Bindow for fast-tracking its reconstruction.
His words: “We really thank this government. This is indeed government for the people and is passionate to work for the people.”
At the palace of the Gombi District Head, Alhaji Shuaibu Barde ,the deputy governor assured the royal father of the readiness of the Bindow administration to renovate all destroyed schools in the state.
