Chairman, Madagali Local Government, Adamawa State, Mohammed Yusuf, has disclosed that Boko Haram insurgents attacked Gulak on Monday in the evening.
However, Yusuf said the soldiers repelled the attack, forcing the insurgents to take to their heels, some of them with serious injuries evidenced by drops of bloods traced to surrounding mountains by soldiers.
According to Yusuf, the Army did not record any casualty, even as he charged all security forces in the council to remain vigilant and proactive in the war against insurgency whose members attacked Gulak “through porous security routes”
Yusuf said: “I’m okay with the level of our Army’s preparedness to end the insurgency. yesterday would been another dark day for the people of not only Gulak but the entire Adamawa state. I appreciate the efforts of the armies and pray for more strengths to totally Wade off Boko Haram in Nigeria. “Yusuf said
Before Monday’s attack, Gulak has been enjoying relatively peace in recent times after the town was recaptured from the control of Boko Haram insurgents two years ago.
