The Secretary to Government of the Federation, Engr. David Lawal Babachir, on Sunday asked Nigerians to identify with the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari to achieve its desired goals in the fight against corruption and other developmental agenda to move the country forward.
He made the call at a special inter-denominational Christmas Carol organised in his honour by Saint Theresa Catholic Cathedral in Yola, Adamawa State Capital.
Babachir charged Christians to use the Christmas period to pray more for the unity and peaceful co-existence of the nation, while urging Nigerians to love one another irrespective of tribal, religion and ethnic differences.
His words: “The President needs your prayers as religious leaders and also as individuals, with your prayers and support, we would definitely achieve our desired objectives and by God’s grace with the mechanism put in place by the present administration of Muhammadu Buhari Nigeria will come back to its normal shape, therefore I urge you all to exercise patience.”
Adamawa State Governor, Umar Jibrilla Bindow, who was represented by his Deputy, Engr. Martins Babale, described the appointment of the SGF was based on his track record of integrity, transparency and for being a detribalized man.
In a remark, Most Reverend Stephen Mamza said, the event was the first of its kind in the history of the Church organized in honour of a personality who believed in promoting peace, unity, transparency and uprightness, saying that no society or country could develop with violence.
