Concerned with the plight of victims, the Kaduna State and the Federal Government have been called upon to send urgent relief to people of tremors affected communities in Jaba Local Government Area of the state.
President, Operation Catch the Fire Ministry International, Apostle Emmanuel E. Bako made the call, during a Sunday service as part of the activities to commemorate Nigeria’s 56th independence celebration held at the Good News Power Base Cathedral Kafanchan, Jem’a Local Government.
Appreciating government for sending teams of scientists to ascertain the magnitude of the tremors, which was over 2.6, Apostle Emmanuel Bako said: “Government should by now have gone beyond sending scientists for facts-finding to providing relief materials to victims of the tremors to reconstruct or rehabilitate their homes, which collapsed or had multiple Cracks, Considering the hash economic condition facing the country.
Apostle Bako said although the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) visited and made assessment in the affected communities, nothing has been done, adding that “Government need to do something positive urgently, especially in the area of relief, to allay their fears”
The clergyman, however called on Nigerian public to repent from their sins, get closer to God, forgive another, pray and fast for the peace, unity, survival, security and prosperity of the country.
Commenting on the lingering crisis between farmers and Fulani herdsmen in Godogodo chiefdom Apostle urged Government to take urgent steps to end hostilities before it get out of hand, like what happened on the case of Boko Haram in North Eastern Nigeria, Stressing that “Prevention is far better than cure”.
He lamented the plight of victims of the crisis who have no food to eat and are displaced.
“Aside ending the violence, government should urgently provide enough food, social amenities, rehabilitate houses and station a permanent military unit to stern reprisals and activities of bandits and entrepreneurs of violence,” Bako added.
