An Islamic cleric in Niger state, Uztas Umar Fatooq Abdullahi, has carpeted members of the National Assembly, saying they are the problems of Nigeria.
Uztas Abdullahi, who is the Chief Imam of Bosso Central Mosque in Minna wondered why the Senate would abandon serious national issues of enhancing good governance for the mundane ones of somebody wearing uniform.
He described as a distraction, the threat that they would not perform their statutory functions until President Muhammadu Buhari sacks the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, acting chairman, Ibrahim Magu.
The cleric decried the “unnecessary rift” created by NASS members for the President, especially this time when all should feel concerned about the deteriorating health of the President.
He called on National Assembly members to allow President Buhari to do his work by not giving him “unnecessary headache,” saying such would engender the needed democratic dividend for the people.
.
The Chief Imam of Bosso Estate Jumaat Mosque in his Juma’at sermon stated that the attitude of our National Assembly members are uncalled for, as he said they are the problems of Nigeria.
His words: “They are the people drawing Mr President back, Mr. President is pure and clean, has good plans, mission and vision to move the county to a greater height but these members are his problems. Some of them don’t have human feeling or sympathy, if not how can they attack Mr. President who just returned from a medical trip by starting to give him headache.
“They have drawn a battle line with Buhari that if he did not sack Magu as a Chairman of EFCC, they will reject any Bill sent to them by Mr. President. Why now? I want Nigerians to look at this issue with keen interest, something is fishy, but Allah knows. Magu and Hammed Ali are not our problems; we trust them”.

The Ustaz urged the Senate to concentrate on what Nigerians voted them to do and not their personal interest or else, Nigerians would be angry with them and recall them and if that fails, they would pray to Allah to recall them.

He noted that there were so many issues bothering Nigerians which members of the National Assembly need to address, including insecurity, health, agriculture, economic, armed robbery, kidnapping, falling standard of education in Nigeria, and the high rate of unemployment in the country.
On the processes of Joint Admission rand Matriculation Board (JAMB) registration, Abdullahi described the situation as “worrisome and unfortunate”, leaving the students to suffer needlessly.
He appealed to the National University Commission (NUC) to look into it as a matter of urgency.

Uztas Abdullahi prayed Allah to grant President Buhari sound health, wisdom and strength to pilot the affairs of the country, while Nigeria enjoys peace and harmony.
