From Matthew Ochei, Asaba
Chairman, Delta State Board of Internal Revenue (DBIR), Monday Onyeme, has appointed the National Project Coordinator of Association of Community Newspaper publishers of Nigeria (ACNPN), Comrade Precious Enebuse as Special Adviser on media matters.
Comrade Enebuse, who is also chairman of the Delta state chapter of the regulatory body of all the community newspaper publishers in Nigeria, in an interview with our correspondent in Asaba expressed gratitude to the DBIR Boss for finding him worthy of the appointment.
According to Enebuse, the board will initiate policies and strategies that will ensure efficient collection of tax in line with international best practices under the administration of Chief Onyeme, adding that adequate sensitization and orientation will be given to Deltans to avoid tax evasion across the state.
He promised to use his wealth of media experience to professionally propagate the Board’s activities with a view to effectively educating Deltans on its day-to-day activities, particularly in the task of informing and educating them on the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the state and the need to pay tax regularly.
Enebuse urged Deltans to support the state government and the Board in view of the dwindling allocation from the federal government occasioned by the drop in the price of crude oil at the international market.
Meanwhile, the Public Relations Officer of ACNPN in the State, Comrade Anthony Ebule on behalf of the association has commended the DBIR chief for finding one of their own worthy of the appointment and enjoined Enebuse to be a good ambassador of the association.
