The decision of the national headquarters of the APC then forced Ribadu and Gundiri to defect to PDP and SDP respectivel, where they contested the last governorship election won by the incumbent Governor, Jibrilla Bindow on the platform of the APC.
However Ribadu at the party secretariat reiterated that their returned was not to wrestle the party structures from anybody but to contributes their quarters and developed the party in the state, adding that they also want to be part of the good job the governor is doing in the state, especially his roads projects.
“I was among those who congratulated the governor in the last election when results of election was declared . We want to build our land, we when to our wards to register and we have come to the state to identify with party,” he said
On his part, Gundiri said: “We are not visitors but prime movers to create APC and we were part of the preparation of the party’s manifestos and when they pleaded with us to come back to APC , we agree to come and help the party thrives in the state.
The two politicians promised to support the governor and help him where necessary.
State Acting Chairman of APC, Alhaji Ibrihim Bille, said Ribadu and Gundiri had gone to their wards and local governments to register and came to the state secretariat of the party to register their presence.
Bille urged the two politicians to support Governor Bindow and the party to clinch the 21 chairmanship and 226 councillorship seats in the forthcoming local government election slated for 30th of this month in the state.
