Former chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Nasarawa state chapter, Bishop Miller Maza has called on Christians in the area to support his successor for the purpose of moving the organization forward.
Bishop Maza, who is the Anglican head of Lafia diocese made the call while handing over the mantle of CAN leadership in the state to a newly elected team, led by Bishop Joseph Masin at the CAN secretariat in Lafia, the state Capital.
Bishop Maza, who appreciated both the state government and the Christian community for their contribution and support towards making his three years administration a success, wants the same support be extended to the new leadership, so that they too would achieve success.
Enumerating some of his achievements, the out-gone chairman said the Association under his leadership was able to purchase a Bus through the support of the state governor, purchased additional land and fencing of the CAN Secretariat
He commended the Federal Government for allocating seats to Christians in the state to perform last year Pilgrimage to Rome and Jerusalem and appealed for more.
In his remarks, the new Chairman of CAN in the state. Bishop Joseph Masin appreciated Christians in the state for the opportunity given him to serve them again.
Bishop Masinm who promised to operate an open-door policy, solicited for cooperation and support to enable the new administration succeed.
The new team includes among others, bishop Joseph Masin chairman, Elder Yohanna Samari-General Secretary and Rev. Emmanuel Angbashim Treasurer.
