An All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairmanship aspirant in Yola North Local Government of Adamawa state, Hon. Abubakar Barnoma, has pleaded with all Nigerians to be calm and patient with President Muhammadu Buhari on the recent increase in the pump price of petrol as a result of fuel subsidy removal.
According to him the N145 per litre price of petrol is geared towards a better economy as “it is the only option open to the Federal Government to do in order to salvage the lingering fuel crisis in petroleum down stream sector.”
Barnoma said: “Buhari is a good leader and he means well for all Nigerians. Believe me, there is no leader who will deliberately create problems for the people he leads, I know that there is going to be a final solution to this ugly experience meted out to Nigerians by those sabotaging this administration”.
He explained that “when there is much competition in a particular business the forces of demand and supply will determine price of the product. For sure, in no distant time the price of petrol will crash to a very comfortable level.
Barnoma, who spoke in his campaign office in Yola, during consultations with relevant stakeholders of the party, also outline his vision for the local government.
His words: “My vision is to consolidate on the achievements of Governor Bindow in terms of roads, electrifying every corner of Yola with street lights, to revive the economy of Jimeta and Yola which hold the economy wire of the state. I intend to create a centre for youth empowerment and introduce a sensitivity programme that will see to the needs of women in my local government “.
He urged the party delegates in the local government to be wise in choosing the right man as the APC candidate for the upcoming council elections.
