National Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has pleaded with Nigerians to give President Bola Ahmed Tinubu time to address the current hardship faced by the nation and bring relief to the Nigerian masses.

Ganduje made the plea on Thursday 17 August, 2023 during a courtesy call on him at the APC National Secretariat, Abuja by the South West Agenda for Asiwaju (SWAGA), the first APC campaign group formed to sell Tinubu to the South West and the country as a presidential hopeful.

Ganduje said: “If you want to start a journey you must start with preparedness, and I think SWAGA started this journey with preparedness because you’re committed, you have common ideas, philosophy or a kind of ideology, which made you to achieve your objective. So we’re happy today our objective has been realized, we worked so hard.”

The APC National Chairman continued:  “We believe that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a man of institutions. He believes in developing institutions and by developing institutions you have sustainability.

“In Lagos where President Tinubu was governor, you can say there is high degree of sustainability not because Tinubu has been the governor for over 20 years in Lagos. He was governor for only eight years but of course he developed institutions. He has laid the foundation for sustainability for Lagos.

“Lagos is a great state, not only in Nigeria, but in Africa. So we want a replica of Lagos, a mirror image of that kind of sustainability for the whole of Nigeria.

“And we believe Asiwaju is equal to the task. He would reform our system, reform the system of governance, reform the institutions, reform the economy and tackle all other social issues that will take Nigeria to the next level. He needs time to do this and Nigerians should give him the time.

“We believe he will leave a big mark of change in Nigeria. I am happy that we are not just stopping with campaigning for him to win the election. After winning the election, next is governance and I’m happy that you will continue to assist him so that Nigeria can succeed.”
