Google, the world renowned company in Information and communication Technology (ICT), is to train over 270 Adamawa state youths in various aspects of ICT fields by April this year.
The State’s coordinator of Poverty Alleviation and Wealth creation, Alhaji Ayuba revealed to group of Journalist in Yola and stressed that the programme is going to involve talented youths cutting across the 21 local governments areas (LGAs) in the state.
The Kauran Mubi said the Governor Jibrilla Bindow administration had a special package programmes that would empower the youths and women of Adamawa to reduce the scourge of poverty in the state.
He said: “As you are aware the state is having the best skills acquisition centres in the country and efforts are in top gears to revive the centres in the state to train youths to acquire training in GSM repairs, computer repairs, automobile engineering, beats making, art and craft.”
Ayuba also said that his office had already trained more than 160 youths sponsored by a foreign company and said that Bindow has declared a state of emergency on Youths empowerment.
