Gunmen Kidnap Nasarawa Ex-Minority Leader

A former female member of Nasarawa State House of Assembly, representing Nasarawa Eggon East constituency, Mary Enwongulu has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen.
The victim was kidnapped at her resident in Akwanga, Akwanga Local Government Council of the state in the early hours of Wednesday. The Daily Dream correspondent gathered that the gunmen at about 2a.m. stormed the residence of the former lawmaker and went away with her in their car to an unknown destination.
Mrs. Enwongulu, a widow who lost her husband last month, is one of the most successful women politicians in the state. She contested the 2015 House of Representatives election for Wamba, Akwanga and Nasarawa Eggon Federal Constituency under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) but failed to clinch the seat. She is currently challenging the result of that election at the tribunal.
When contact, the police Public Relations Officer, Nasarawa State Command, Ismaila Numan, confirmed the incident, assuring that the command was ready to go into action to track down the abductors and rescue the victim.
