Gwong Community Concludes Plans To Hold 2016 Cultural Festival

Arrangements have been concluded to hold the 2016 edition of Khituk Gwong scheduled for Gwong Development Area Secretariat Fadan Kagoma, On Saturday, March 6.
Addressing the media after inspecting the venue and receiving brief on the level of preparedness, His Highness, the Kpop Gwong II, P-Z Wyom, expressed satisfaction on the commitment of sons and daughters of the Chiefdom to ensuring a hitch free festival.
He said assurances have been received from their Excellencies the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, and Governor Ahmed Nasir EL-Rufai and Speaker Yakubu Dogara of their willingness to grace the occasion. He charged his people not to relent in prayers and fasting for the festival.
Fielding questions, as to the measures taken against a repeat of political clash, the President Gwong Development Association (GDA), Prof. Casmier Emmanuel Gimba, assured that the ugly situation will not happen again as political parties have been communicated, soliciting their cooperation not to turn the event into a political rally.
According to him, security has been briefed up to ensure peace before, during and after the festival.
He disclosed that prayer and fasting for the Community, Jema’a Local Government, Kaduna State and Nigeria has been fixed for Wednesday 2nd to Friday 4th March and urged all sons, daughters and friends to partake in the exercise.
