University of Health and Allied Sciences, Ho, Volta Region, Ghana, Prof. Oluwaseun Omotayo, has stated that many ex-internationals who have improved on themselves have what it takes to handle the Nigerian National Teams.
Prof. Omotayo stated this in reaction to the recent appointment of ex-international, Finidi George, as the new Super Eagles coach.
Omotayo, who is also Chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT) Sports Psychology Association of Nigeria (SPAN), said: “I believe that many of Nigeria’s ex Super Eagles particularly those who have gone ahead to improve themselves in Sports Coaching Education have what it takes to manage any of the National Teams including the Super Eagles if the NFF gives them the necessary backup.
“On Finidi i believe that he can take Super to greater heights like the “Big Boss”, late Stephen Keshi. Finidi will succeed if he deploys known Coaching Science Techniques in Team Management and works with the full compliments of an experienced Sports Medicine Team (SMT).
“I use this opportunity to congratulate Finidi George on his new appointment. i wish him a most successful tenure”, said Prof. Omotayo, who is also Board Member, World Association for Sports Medicine (WASM), President, Africa Students Football Union (ASFU), Ag. President, Africa Sports Management Association (ASMA), Member, Qatar Independent Gulf Association (QIGA).
