The Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University (IBBU), Lapai on Monday said it will graduate 6,348 students

Out of these graduands the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Muhammadu Nasir Maiturare said 29 will come out as first class.

Maiturare spoke at a press briefing as part of activities to mark the 2nd combined convocation ceremony of the school.

According to Maiturare “the graduands are from four different sets starting from 2013/2014. A total of 6,348 graduands will receive first degrees, while 36 will be awarded Masters Degrees and 82 others will be awarded Postgraduate Diplomas.

He added that “out of the first-degree category 29 (0.5%) are first class, 1,281 (20.2%) in the Second class upper division, 3,290 (51.8%) in the Second class lower division, 1,613 (25.4%) in Third class, while 135 (2.1%) are with Pass Degrees.”

Maiturare further stated that highlights of the convocation will be the launch of N7 billion endowment fund and conferment of Honorary doctorate Degree on foremost Islamic Scholar, Sheihk Ahmed Lemu and a Honorary Fellowship on the General Managing Director Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Dr. Maikanti Baru.
