Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Adamawa State have asked to be recruited into paramilitary organisations like the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS)
The IDPs made their wish known when the NSCDC and the NIS donated relief items to them in the IDP camps in Adamawa.
The para military chiefs had pledged to assist the IDPs when they accompanied the Interior Minister, Gen. Bello Dambazau, to the camps recently.
In fullfiling the pledge, the state Commander General of the NSCDC, Abdullahi Muhammad Gana presented bags of rice and cooking oil to the displaced persons at Malkohi camp in Yola.
Gana who was represented by the Adamawa State Commandant, Muhammadu Durumin-Iya said the corps shared the grief of those who lost family members and property to the Boko Haram insurgency.
Comptroller, NIS Adamawa, Ubi Ukpi donated sewing machines for the training programme at the camp as part of the pledge made by the Comptroller General, Martins Kure.
