The Ijebu Igbo Council of Elders (ICE) has congratulated the Orimolusi-Elect, Prince Lawrence Adebajo, over his emergence as the people’s choice for the coveted Orimolusi throne.
ICE, which issued the congratulatory message through its Chairman, Chief Adebayo Dayo, urged all Ijebu Igbo sons and daughters to rally round the Orimolusi-elect with a view to holding a hitch-free coronation and a successful reign for Prince Adebajo.
Chief Dayo wrote: “On behalf of Ijebu Igbo Council of Elders I congratulate the Orimolusi-elect in person of Prince Lawrence Adebajo and the entire people of Ijebu Igbo for a peaceful selection and a job well done by the warrant chiefs. All the rumours and all sorts of information going round the town have been put to rest. The way forward now is to unite ourselves and cooperate with the Orimolusi-elect in moving the town forward.
“After the official announcement by the state government, I appeal to all sons and daughters of Ijebu Igbo to let us all bury our machetes in order to move the town forward. This can only be done when we are united.
“I apologise most sincerely to all I have offended knowingly and unknowingly and I forgive wholeheartedly those that have offended me in the course of this struggle. Let us all go back to the drawing board and plan on how to regain our lost glory. May the reign of the new Oba bring peace and greatness to Ijebu Igbo.”
Similarly, former Executive Chairman, Ijebu Igbo West Local Council Development Area, Hon. Adegoke Adekambi has felicitated with the Orimolusi-elect and the entire people of Ijebu Igbo.
In a statement made available to The Dream Daily Newspaper, Hon. Adekambi stated: “I rejoice with and congratulate our Oba-elect, Prince Lawrence Adedeji Jaiyeoba Tanimowo Adebajo as the Orimolusi Ijebu Igbo. May your reign be peaceful and bring joy to Ijebu Igbo and its people. Kabiyesi o!”
